The EQUImeasure tool allows us to build a superb fitting custom Synergist Saddle for your horse. No other saddle will ever fit your horse better! (Unless it's another Synergist Saddle!) The patented EQUImeasure Kit is an easy-to-use, accurate, and is an economical way to create a 3-D model of your horse's back. The information below has been adapted from the EQUImeasure saddle fitting web site for our customers. Synergist Saddles uses EQUImeasure to:  Assist in the creation of a new saddle  Evaluate a horse's back for asymmetry All you need to use an EQUImeasure Kit is an oven, oven mitts, and your horse. The insulated package and heating tray allow up to 20 minutes to elapse between removing the warm EQUImeasure sheet from the oven and placing it on your horse for molding. Please Note: There are no returns or refunds on EQUImeasure kits. After they are shipped once, the box cannot be resold as new to someone else.   General Instructions for Using the EQUImeasure Kit: Brush the horse's back to remove loose hair and dirt. Place the heating tray containing the EQUImeasure sheet in your oven on low heat (~170 degrees Fahrenheit) for about 15 minutes. The EQUImeasure sheet will become warm and pliable. Use oven mitts to remove the tray and EQUImeasure sheet from the oven, returning them to the insulated package. Transport the package to the horse, which should be secured, standing squarely, and facing forward. Remove the EQUImeasure sheet from the package, using the illustrated directions and product graphics to position it across the horse's back. Use both hands to smooth the sheet to the conformation of the horse. Wait 3-5 minutes for the EQUImeasure sheet to cool and become rigid. Remove the formed EQUImeasure sheet from the horse and affix a label on which you've recorded specific information about that equine. The proprietary EQUImeasure sheet is made of materials similar to those used in veterinary and medical applications world-wide for nearly 30 years. The EQUImeasure sheet is non-toxic, hypoallergenic, non-sticky, and emits no harmful fumes. Best of all, horses truly enjoy the warm sheet placed across their backs. They sigh and yawn contentedly - some even doze off! A cool EQUImeasure model is very rigid. The model is also virtually unbreakable - it will not crack, shatter, or lose its shape when dropped. NOTE: After using the EQUImeasure Kit, Synergist Saddles requires that you complete the following additional steps to help ensure that when your new saddle is completed it's a perfect fit. Final Recommended Steps for Synergist Saddles: Take a side view photo of your horse with his head up from about 5 feet away showing the horse's shoulder to the hip. The camera should be level with the horse's spine. All photos should be taken with the EQUImeasure form on the horse. Take an overhead photo of your horseā€™s spine. Stand behind him on a chair or the back of a truck bed. Take a photo of the rider holding the horseā€™s lead, showing a full body shot that can give us a size reference. Take a girth measurement. Please measure your horsesā€™ circumference all the way around him where the girth would be placed. (Should be approximately 70"- 80"). Closely follow all the general step-by-step EQUImeasure Kit directions. Using a carpenter level, draw a horizontal ā€œlevel lineā€ along one side of the form. This will act as a reference for proper saddle positioning and balance. It has been our experience that the form shapes best to your horse when very warm. Tips: If when you place a heated EQUImeasure form on your horse's back it does not conform almost completely by itself, place it back in the oven and heat it up a little longer. If you have to work at getting it to take the shape of your horse's back the EQUImeasure is not hot enough. Before you ship the EQUImeasure form to us, place it on your horse once again to make absolutely sure that it has not changed shape. Not sure you got the EQUImeasure sheet properly molded to your horse's back? Just re-use your EQUImeasure Kit! Pre-heat your oven to ~170 degrees Fahrenheit. Place the formed EQUImeasure model on the insulated heating tray on a middle rack in your oven. After 10 minutes, remove the model and tray from the oven and then, wearing oven mittens, begin to press the model flat. Then return the model and tray to the oven. Repeat this process every few minutes until the model has become a flat sheet. Note: The EQUImeasure sheet may have a few wrinkles (especially near the horse's withers), that cannot be completely flattened. This is normal and will not affect product performance or compromise the fitting process in any way. The EQUImeasure sheet is now ready to be thoroughly heated and re-used.
